Privacy Policy

This policy was drafted to accurately describe what TradeQuote's code actually does today. It has not been reviewed by an attorney. Before relying on it, especially once real money and real personal contact information are involved, have a lawyer read it.

What we collect

When you submit a job through the estimate form, we collect the job description, your general location (city/state or ZIP code), and how urgent the job is. We do not ask for or collect a street address, and we never ask for payment information from homeowners.

If a local pro accepts direct leads for your trade and ZIP code, we will ask — separately, and only with your explicit checked consent — for your name and a phone number and/or email so that specific pro can contact you. This is never collected without that consent step.

How we use it

Your job description and location are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a cost estimate and determine the trade category needed.
Your location is sent to Google's Places and Geocoding APIs to find public, real business listings (name, rating, review count, distance, phone/website) near you.
If you consent to share your contact info, it is sent to exactly one business — the pro who has exclusively subscribed to receive leads for your trade in your ZIP code — along with your job description, location, and urgency.
We keep a record of submitted jobs and any leads sent, so we can operate and improve the service.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or share your job details or contact information with anyone except the single pro you explicitly consent to share them with, as described above. We use the following outside services to operate TradeQuote, each of which processes data as part of providing their service to us:

Anthropic (Claude API) — processes job descriptions to generate estimates.
Google (Places and Geocoding APIs) — resolves locations and finds nearby businesses.
Stripe — processes subscription payments from pros. We do not see or store full card numbers; Stripe handles that directly.

Cookies and tracking

TradeQuote does not currently use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Data retention and deletion

We retain submitted job and lead information as needed to operate the service. If you'd like your information removed, contact us using the details below and we will delete it.
